WHO WE ARE
The Canada South Festival network was created in 1999 by festival organizers, local politicians, regional and provincial tourism industry representatives to develop a stronger sector presence through collaboration, careful scheduling, sound development and effective promotion. The Canada South Festival Network is a not-for-profit membership-based organization comprised of festivals and events, fairs and sporting events now advocating on behalf of the industry, able to heighten awareness on related issues and assist members to attain their goals.
MISSION
The mission is to advocate, enhance, promote, strengthen, support and encourage the development of festivals and events of all size and focus while being the common voice of the Windsor-Essex Festival Tourism Industry resulting in measurable regional economic impact.
MANDATE
The mandate is to promote Windsor-Essex as a year-round “Festival Tourist Destination,” support existing festivals and events and to assistin the development of new festivals and events in the Windsor-Essex region.
OBJECTIVES
- Strengthen the viability of festivals and events, unify tourism partners and increase awareness of the regional festival and event tourism industry.
- Assist with recruitment, scheduling, development and design of new festivals and events.
- To be the central resource, calendar and clearinghouse for all searching for information and resources on festivals and events in the Windsor-Essex Region.
- Measure the economic impact of the year-round festival and event industry in the Region.
- To increase tourism visitation and spending in the Windsor-Essex Region.
